We just got back from SQL Saturday in Philadelphia where we got a chance to sit with a few different people in the SQL Server community and conduct interviews to help let you get to know them even better as real people, not just a speaker at the front of the room or a voice behind a webcast.
Over the next few weeks we will be bringing you these interviews and hope you enjoy them.
This first interview is with Sean McCown, more commonly known as Midnight DBA. We had a great time just chatting about things and are excited to share this interview.
There’s one catch though. When we got back from the event, the first 10 – 15 minutes of the interview were corrupted and lost! Don’t worry though, the interview came in at 58 minutes, so there is still lots of great content to listen to.
In those first 10 minutes we basically introduced Sean, and talked about how he used to travel the world as a professionally trained chef before he ever got into the tech world. From this we started playing with nicknames, and I settled on ‘The Anthony Bourdain of the SQL community”.
As noted, we lost the first fun interaction, but we had a great discussion about some other things and just know you will enjoy learning more about Sean, and some of his thoughts and views on things. Let’s pick up in the interview when we were talking about what got Sean to the level of celebrity in the SQL Server community and how the experience has been ……
