Today I Learned

Tim Ford (Blog |@SQLAgentMan) popped up a challenge on google+ the other day, and I have taken it up.

The challenge posted was:

Here is my challenge to all of you for 2013: learn something new each day AND document it to share with others. If coming on SQL Cruise we will carve out time to discuss our progress.

So, here is the start of my documenting my daily lessons. I am going to tag them in a category titled TIL (Today I Learned) and they will be of whatever I can think I learned that day. Some will be technical, some just silly.

That is what will make this fun.

So, on with the show:

Today I Learned:

Writing emails to prospective and current clients, plugging your new & existing services, is a lot harder than it seems.

This is mainly because it is not always easy to toot your own horn.

Don’t get me wrong, I can talk about myself for days, but to create a short concise email that leaves enough interest to draw in clients is tricky.

There is always the risk of crossing that Confidence /Arrogance line, which is one of the last things you want to do with a potential or current client.
